Apple has rolled out stable versions of iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3, bringing AI-powered enhancements to supported devices. This update is another step toward expanding the availability of Apple Intelligence tools.
Visual Intelligence and News Summaries
One of the key additions is the Visual Intelligence feature, now available on the iPhone 16 series. It allows users to scan posters, flyers, and other printed materials to add events directly to the Calendar app. Additionally, this tool can visually identify plants and animals.
Another notable feature is the support for AI-generated news summaries. However, this function is currently unavailable, as Apple temporarily suspended it due to inaccuracies in the generated content. When reintroduced, these summaries will appear in italics, and users will be able to configure their display settings through a dedicated menu on the device’s lock screen. The menu will also provide a quick way to disable summaries for specific apps.
Bug Fixes and App Improvements
The iOS 18.3 update brings back the ability to repeat the last operation in the Calculator app by pressing the equals key. Additionally, a bug affecting Siri’s text mode, where the on-screen keyboard could disappear, has been fixed. Another issue, which caused Apple Music to continue playing until the end of a track even after the app was closed, has also been resolved, adds NIX Solutions.
Apple continues refining its software, ensuring a smoother user experience. We’ll keep you updated as more features and improvements roll out.
