Initial Introduction and Language Support
Voice message transcription was originally introduced to WhatsApp in May 2023, but only for iOS device users. Currently, the voice-to-text transcription supports English, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), and Hindi. In the future, the messenger’s developers plan to add support for additional languages. The transcription will be performed directly on the device, eliminating the need to send messages to a third-party server, which enhances the security of the process.
