The new option will be called “Read Later”, and its peculiarity is how it archives chats in the messenger, Ferra reports. According to the journalists, unlike the archiving we are used to, the new function will add messages directly to the archive, preventing them from “making noise” and distracting users. WhatsApp representatives said that the main goal of adding the new feature is to reduce the number of factors that could distract users.
NIX Solutions notes that at the moment, only owners of iOS devices can use the “Read Later” function, and even then only those who participate in the closed beta testing. It is expected that the new feature will become generally available in the very near future, including on Android.
