Microsoft has announced that its AI-powered Designer app has left preview and is now available to all iOS and Android users. This application allows users to create images and designs based on text prompts, enabling the creation of stickers, greeting cards, invitations, collages, and more.
Features and Functionality
The web version of the Designer application now supports more than 80 languages and is available as a free mobile application and within the Windows operating system. Designer includes “prompt templates” designed to help users get started in the creative process. These templates include styles and descriptions that users can customize and share with others. In addition to stickers, users can create emoticons, pictures, wallpapers, monograms, avatars, and much more using text prompts.
Additionally, Designer can edit image styles using AI. For example, users can upload a selfie to the app, choose from a set of styles, and add additional details to the image. A “replace background” feature is coming soon, allowing users to replace the background of images using text prompts.
Integration and Upcoming Features
The standalone Designer app is compatible with Word and PowerPoint via Copilot. Copilot Pro subscribers can use Designer to create images directly within their workspace. Microsoft will soon add the ability to create banners for specific documents based on the content of Word documents, adds NIX Solutions.
Moreover, Microsoft announced deeper integration of the Designer app into Microsoft Photos in Windows 11. Users will be able to use AI to edit photos without leaving the Photos app, enabling them to remove objects and backgrounds from photos and perform automatic cropping directly within the application.
We’ll keep you updated on future enhancements and features as Microsoft continues to expand the capabilities of the Designer app.
