Users of the WhatsApp messenger will soon be able to take advantage of a new AI function that will allow them to generate personalized avatars. At this stage, this feature has become available to some users of the beta version of WhatsApp 2.24.14.7.
Creating Personalized Avatars
The announcement stated that users will be able to create avatars based on their own images and text descriptions. A screenshot posted this week provides a brief description of the new feature, mentioning that users can imagine themselves “in any setting, from forests to outer space.” The published examples of generated avatars look quite typical for images created by an AI algorithm.
To create a personalized avatar, the user will need to “take a photo of themselves once.” This photo will be used to train an AI algorithm to create images similar to the user. After this, the user will only need to indicate the details of the image they want to receive in the Meta AI chat or another chat using the command “@Meta AI imagine me…”.
Activation and Availability
According to reports, the new feature will be disabled by default. To start generating personalized avatars, you will need to activate the appropriate option in the application settings. The reference photos on which avatars are created can be deleted at any time. It is not yet known when this innovation will become publicly available, notes NIX Solutions.
