NIX Solutions: Airbnb Adds Services and App Features

Airbnb has rolled out a major update to its app, expanding its offerings beyond private homes and rooms. The platform now includes new Airbnb Services and Airbnb Experiences, and users don’t need to book a stay to access them.

The services currently span ten categories, such as personal chefs, catering, massages, personal trainers, and spa treatments. According to Airbnb, service providers are vetted for quality through a review of experience and reputation. Most providers reportedly have an average of 10 years of experience, have passed Airbnb’s identity verification process, and are required to provide relevant licenses and certifications. Pricing for services varies, with some entry-level options available for under $50. These services are accessible to anyone—even those not staying at an Airbnb property.

Alongside the services, Airbnb is also relaunching Airbnb Experiences. These experiences can range from a simple city tour hosted by a local to a more exclusive opportunity, such as learning Mexican wrestling moves in the ring with a luchador. Airbnb is now accepting applications from individuals interested in providing either services or experiences on the platform.

Redesigned App with Enhanced Features

The app itself has received a full redesign. Airbnb has introduced a new Explore home page that offers personalized recommendations for homes, experiences, and amenities based on specific locations. A newly added Trips tab helps users plan their itinerary, while the redesigned messaging platform supports photo and video sharing to streamline communication between guests and hosts.

For hosts, Airbnb has also updated the management interface. A new Manage Bookings tab provides clear details on upcoming reservations. The calendar now includes both daily and hourly scheduling options, making it easier to organize availability. Additionally, the listing management tools have been improved to offer better control and usability.

These updates are part of Airbnb’s broader effort to position itself as more than just a booking platform for accommodations, notes NIX Solutions. By adding lifestyle services and activities, the company is aiming to become a more integrated part of travelers’ overall experience. Whether you’re planning a full trip or just want a massage or cooking class in your hometown, the new features are designed to make that easier.

We’ll keep you updated as more integrations become available.
