This week, Apple officially announced the date of its annual WWDC conference, where it will present iOS 19. This update is expected to be one of the most significant in the company’s history. Alongside iOS 19, Apple will also unveil other new features. Meanwhile, YouTube blogger Jon Prosser has published a short video showcasing what he claims to be the new iOS 19 interface.
Leaked Design Details and Expert Opinions
Earlier, Prosser shared images that he says depict the updated Camera and Messages apps in iOS 19. According to him, both the previously published mockups and the visual materials presented in his new video are based on the actual design of the upcoming system. However, Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman has contested this, stating that the mockups shared by Prosser lack key details.
In his latest video, Prosser highlighted some of the expected design features of iOS 19. He noted that the system’s “glass” design is inspired by visionOS, the software platform for Apple’s Vision Pro mixed reality headset. The new aesthetic is said to have a more rounded look with glossy, protruding interface elements. For example, the keyboard in this design appears to “float” on the screen.
Conflicting Reports on iOS 19’s Final Look
At the end of his video, Prosser mentioned that the iOS 19 version he saw did not feature round app icons on the home screen. However, he acknowledged that changes could still be made before the official release, leaving the possibility of round icons being added later.
Mark Gurman, however, remains skeptical of Prosser’s leaks, notes NIXSolutions. He argued that the images shown by the blogger do not match what Apple is set to reveal at WWDC. According to Gurman, these mockups are based on either outdated builds or incomplete descriptions that lack key features. He expects Apple to present something more substantial than what has been leaked so far.
While details remain uncertain, anticipation for iOS 19 is growing, and we’ll keep you updated as more information emerges.
