NIX Solutions: Gemini Live Rolls Out to All Androids

Google has officially rolled out Gemini Live — the AI-powered feature integrated into the Gemini app — to all Android users starting today. Previously, this feature was only available to those with a Gemini Advanced subscription.

Gemini Live allows the AI assistant to “see” and respond to what you’re viewing through your screen or camera. It was initially launched earlier this month for Pixel 9 and Samsung Galaxy S25 devices, where the Gemini app came pre-installed. Now, in a broader expansion, Google is making the feature accessible to everyone using Android.

“We’ve gotten great feedback about Gemini Live with its camera and screen sharing capabilities, so we wanted to bring it to more people,” Google said on Platform X. “Starting today and over the coming weeks, we’ll be rolling it out to all Android users with the Gemini app.” We’ll keep you updated as more integrations become available and the rollout continues.

How Gemini Live Works and What’s New

With Gemini Live, users can get contextual answers based on what’s on their screen or what they’re pointing their camera at. For instance, if you’re reading a recipe or trying to identify a plant, you can tap the “Share Screen with Live” button found in the Gemini tab. This enables the assistant to “see” what you’re seeing and provide real-time assistance.

If you want to use the camera function, just go to the full-screen Gemini Live interface and tap the camera button. This opens a viewfinder that allows you to switch between front and rear cameras depending on what you want to show the assistant.

This update positions Gemini Live to be more widely used, offering a more hands-on AI experience to Android users beyond the Pixel and Galaxy lines, notes NIX Solutions. Its expansion also reflects Google’s ongoing push to integrate AI more deeply into everyday mobile usage.

Meanwhile, Microsoft announced today that its own AI tool, Copilot Vision, is now available for free through the Edge browser, highlighting growing competition in the AI assistant space.

As more AI features become standard in mobile and browser experiences, we’ll keep you updated on any changes or new functionalities as they’re announced.
