Today, Slack introduced the first four widgets for the iOS version of its mobile application. Three of these widgets are designed for the iPhone home screen, while the fourth can be added to the lock screen. The lock screen widget allows users to immediately access the Slack app after unlocking their device, ensuring quick and easy communication.
Home Screen Widgets
The home screen widgets include the Catch Up widget, which displays the number of unread messages and mentions without requiring users to open the app. This widget provides more detailed information than the Slack app icon and directs users to the relevant section of the Slack app to quickly review missed conversations when tapped.
Additionally, there are two other widgets designed to streamline the process of updating Slack statuses. The smaller status widget allows users to access the status section of the Slack iOS app directly. The larger version offers the same functionality with three pre-selected status options: a one-hour Spotlight status, a Lunch status, and a half-hour Break status. However, it’s worth noting that these preset options are not customizable at this time, adds NIX Solutions.
Three new Slack iOS widgets are here to make your workday a whole lot easier. Add the Catch Up widget, Status widget, and Slack Launcher widget to your device and stay in the know on the go.
