The latest Telegram update introduces a new feature where users can send gifts in exchange for “Stars,” an internal currency. These animated images, which can be customized with text, can either be displayed on the recipient’s profile or exchanged back for “Stars.” Additionally, the sender has the option to remain anonymous, ensuring that only the recipient knows their identity.
Business Features and Enhanced Complaints System
This update also caters to business users by allowing phone number verification for customers. Telegram’s verification system, which costs just $0.01 per user through the Fragment platform, is faster, more convenient, and cheaper than traditional SMS verification. Businesses can send confirmation codes via a special in-app chat, and the Gateway API mechanism is available for free trials.
Telegram has also improved its complaint submission process. Users can now report content violations more efficiently with a detailed categorization system. For instance, under the “Fraud or spam” section, users can directly choose “Phishing” if it applies. The complaint process is simple: just click or hold the message on mobile or right-click in the PC or web versions to report it.
RTMP Broadcasting and Video Call Improvements
Video call enhancements in the iOS app now reduce resource consumption, leading to less battery drain and lower device temperatures, even during large video conferences. Users can also broadcast both camera and screen content simultaneously. NIX Solutions adds that Telegram has introduced support for live broadcasts in RTMP format, which can be managed using popular programs like OBS Studio and XSplit Broadcaster. This feature is available across all Telegram platforms.
We’ll keep you updated on future developments as Telegram continues to improve its platform.
