NIX Solutions: Viber Launches File Sharing in Business Messages

The Viber messenger announced the launch of a new File Sharing feature. With the help of it companies using Viber business messages to interact with their potential and existing customers can exchange different types of documents within the application.

Brands will now be able to send their customers receipts for goods and services, bank statements, warranties, and more without having to switch to another app and rely on email.

File Sharing is also available for Viber users to communicate with companies via two-way business messages. For example, in case of questions about the use or installation of the purchased product, the buyer can contact the seller by attaching the necessary photo, video or file with instructions to help resolve the issue. Thus, all communication between customers and business, along with the necessary documents, will be in one convenient communication channel.

File Sharing supports the transfer of both the most commonly used document types (.doc, .docx, .pdf, .xls, .xslx) and specialized text and image files (.txt, .rtf, .dot, .dotx, .odt, odf, .fodt, .info, .xps, .pdax, .eps), notes NIX Solutions. The only limitation in document size is that it should not exceed 25 MB. All documents shared by companies and users are protected by end-to-end encryption by default. Viber does not have access to the information transmitted in messages and files.
